Why we price it this way
Private ear care in Greater Manchester is a mixed bag. Some clinics charge an assessment fee whether or not anything is removed. Others advertise a low headline price and add extras on the day. We wanted the opposite: a price you can read once, remember, and not think about again until you are paying at the counter.
So the figure covers the whole visit. The look inside both ears, the removal itself, the check afterwards, and the advice on stopping the problem coming back. Nothing is added for equipment, appointment length or "complex wax".
How we compare
As a general picture across the UK in 2026, private microsuction typically costs somewhere between £40 and £100 depending on the provider and city. Home-visit services usually sit higher because of travel time. Our clinic sits at the accessible end of that range because we run it inside a working pharmacy rather than a standalone clinic with its own overheads. The fine print, in plain English
- Payment is taken at the pharmacy after your appointment, by card or cash. Booking online costs nothing.
- If only one ear needs clearing but you booked for both, you pay the single-ear price. It works the other way round too.
- If the wax is too hard to remove safely on the day, we will not push on regardless. You will be asked to soften with olive oil and return, and you only pay once, on the visit where the wax actually comes out.
- If we spot something that needs a doctor, such as signs of infection, we stop, explain, and signpost you properly. No charge.
- Cancellations: please give us a day's notice where you can, so the slot can go to someone else.
Is it worth paying at all?
A fair question. Ear wax removal is no longer a core GP service in most areas, and local NHS access is referral-based and restricted, usually reserved for people who meet specific criteria after softening has failed. If you qualify, that route costs nothing and we would encourage you to use it. If you are among the many who do not, or you would rather not wait, that is exactly what this clinic is for. The service is for adults aged 18 and over.
