The service
Davyhulme Pharmacy provides microsuction ear wax removal for adults aged 18 and over at 179-181 Canterbury Road, Urmston M41 0SE. Every appointment includes an examination of both ears before any removal. The clinician will only proceed where removal is clinically appropriate, and may instead advise softening and a return visit, or refer you to another service where that is the right course.
Pricing
£40 for removal from one ear and £60 for both ears, covering the consultation, examination, removal and aftercare advice. If the examination finds no wax requiring removal, no fee is charged. Where wax is too hard to remove safely on the day, you will be asked to soften and return, and payment is taken only on the visit where removal takes place. Payment is due at the pharmacy after the appointment.
Appointments and cancellations
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or move an appointment where possible, so the slot can be offered to someone else. Repeated missed appointments without notice may mean we ask for payment in advance for future bookings.
Your responsibilities
Please tell us about your ear history when booking, including any perforated eardrum, grommets, ear surgery, discharge or current infection, and follow the preparation guidance on this site, including the circumstances in which olive oil should not be used.
Website information
Content on this website is general information, not medical advice for your individual situation, and does not replace an examination by a qualified professional. If you have ear pain, discharge, fever or sudden hearing loss, seek medical advice through your GP or NHS 111 rather than booking a wax removal appointment; sudden hearing loss in one ear should be assessed the same day.
Regulation
Davyhulme Pharmacy is a registered pharmacy premises (GPhC 1091237). The superintendent pharmacist is Muhammad Adnan, GPhC registration 2073652. Both registrations can be verified on the General Pharmaceutical Council register at pharmacyregulation.org.
